Lottie Hedley is a lawyer turned photographer from a dairy farm in New Zealand who is currently
searching for the meaning of community through photography.
Having left her job in corporate law in London at the end of 2009, Hedley attended the
professional certificate program at Maine Media College in Rockport, ME. Following graduation
from the Maine Media College, Hedley spent the 2011 summer at the Maine Media Workshops
as a teaching assistant for photographers and reporters including Sam Abell, Ron Haviv, Sarah
Kramer, Bob Krist and Sylvia Plachy.
After only one year photographing Hedley was selected for the 24th Eddie Adams Workshop in
2011 and a year later for Review Santa Fe 2012. Hedley recently finished up an internship at VII
Photo Agency in New York City. She has also worked for Down East Magazine, Savannah
Magazine, Good Magazine (NZ), Skirt Magazine and as the on-set photographer for Anatomy of
the Tide feature film.
