Diana Monkhorst (1977) studied in Utrecht Autonomous Sculpture and Photography at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. With her series in which she is always looking for a balance between strength and vulnerability, she was nominated for the Steenberg Stichting Price and Art Primeur, and exhibited in 2001 and 2004 at FOAM, the The Hague Municipal Museum (2002), the Dutch Embassy in Cuba (2003) at in Institut Néerlandais (2005) in Paris and in the Hoboken Institute in Rotterdam (2001). For the project I Amsterdam (2004) Monkhorst made a series of 20 portraits of Amsterdam's intelligentsia.
