Petra T. Ruzickova (4.10.1963-10.1.2021)
The photography of Petra T. Ruzickova resembles painting or graphic processes and techniques. She has produced photographic palimpsests: labyrinthine compositions, collages where elements of reality and dream fade into one another. The result is an image crammed with concealed symbols and metaphors, conveying the inner side of reality. Even the formal aspects are subordinate to a philosophical rather than a purely artistic concept of art. Petra T. Ruzickova is an expressive colourist of timeless Romanticism. In this respect, she is familiar with the world of literature and painting, yet she is often inspired by architecture and natural morphology too.
