Sited Body, Public Visions: silence, stillness & walking as Performance Art, Ernesto Pujol, McNally Jackson Books, New York, New York, 2012 Ernesto Pujol: Walk #1, Contact Sheet, Number 148, Light Work, Syracuse, 2008
Ernesto Pujol is an American, site-specific, public performance artist and social choreographer. Pujol generates contemporary art photography and art video, made available to collectors and collecting institutions through his studio and the galleries that represent his current work and estate. The artist works through commissions, creating performative portraits of the land, peoples and their issues.
Ernesto Pujol's solo and group performances produce both archival documentation and collectable art photography and video. The work can be seen through his website. You may also contact the artist directly for a studio appointment or through his gallery in New York. Pujol's performances are carefully examined for their image-making qualities, determining what should be preserved as document and what should be made available to the market as collectible images in very limited editions.
