Born in Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, May 22, 1950.
She studied photography at Visual Studies Workshop, Rochester, N.Y. (1976-1977).
GRANTS:
Received a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation fellowship to pursue her photographic project on Mexico City (1994).
In 1994 she became a Fellow of Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte, FONCA, Mexico City.

OTHER ACTITIVITIES:
She has traveled to New York City, Las Vegas, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Beijing, and Dehli, Calcutta, Agra, Jaipur, Kajuraho, Varanasi, Bhubaneswar and Udaipur in India to pursue her project on the relationship of the experience of traveling with memory, time and photography.
BOOKS:
She has published three books of her b&w photographs: Los Velos Transparentes, las Transparencias Veladas (1988), Mexican Passion/Pasión Mexicana (2002) and Melodrama barroco (2007), as well as the following books of her color work: Fragmentos, Visiones paralelas and El color del cristal (2008) and Las Vegas, Artificio y Neón (2013). She has also published independently the books ese extraño mundo de las imágenes (2009), Diario de Varanasi y Calcuta (2011), Una Mexicana en Paris (2012).
