Artist Statement
All my photographs fall under the life long project titled, "Rethinking the Natural" compromising the following series: Animalis, Nature Morte, Desert, Nocturne, Diatoms, Light Projections and a new series Infinities.
As in every body of work I have produced my thinking on the making of these images resonates along certain lines that have been at the core of my photographic investigations for over 25 years. A lot of my work is about process, observation, alchemy and old scientific collections called Cabinets of Wonder. With this body of work I have tried to further clarify my interest and fascination with the actual marks I can produce via the traditional and non-traditional entropic photographic processes I have perfected over the years.
My intent is to show that by manipulating the film grain via my entropic process I can achieve a new and unique a type of mark. My goal is to link the world of drawing and the world of photography in these images. I want them to be part document, part drawing and part dream.

Process Statement
All my prints (except the Diatoms) start out as black and white silver gelatin prints that are then manipulated in the darkroom via a unique entropic processes I have developed to bring out certain varied aspects of the film and print grain by the manipulation of the silver metals in the paper using a variety of techniques. Each print is one of a kind and unique. Over the years it’s become a kind of private alchemy of manipulating silver into a unique type mark on paper. I am the only person working in this manner to my knowledge.

About the Prints:
All images are silver prints made in the darkroom using brushes, bleaches and toners via an entropic process I have refined over the years. The "one of kind" images are then printed in small editions on 100% rag paper using 100 year archival inks. Editions are signed and numbered. There are 4 bodies of work that fall under the title "Rethinking the Natural" which are: Animalis, Nocturne, Desert, Nature Morte, Light Projections & Infinities.
