Artist Statement
Through the years my artistic practice has developed into a conceptually based photographic project in which I explore the possibilities of the photographic medium. My projects are motivated by the idea of making a cut in the surface of the photograph and a play on the notion that such a photographic cut would also cut open our world.
Process Statement
My work often border the absolute abstract but I leave tiny parts of either a corner of a table, a radiator or other everyday objects sticking into the photographs in order to place an element of a reality for the viewer to relate to and a space that they will recognize. At the same time I wish to suggest the possibility of poetry and magic in the very same everyday space. I utilize the alleged close relationship between photography and “reality” to scratch the surface of reality and let the viewer sense the possibility of a different space in the world where the sun uncovers the inner of the photograph.
