Deborah Bay is a Houston artist who specializes in tabletop and constructed photography, creating enigmatic in-camera images as well as digital composites. Her most recent series, “The Big Bang,” explores the fragmentation of bullets embedded in plexiglas, tracing the energy released from the projectile well after the gunshots are fired. She has exhibited work at the Galveston Arts Center, Dallas Contemporary, Griffin Museum of Photography, Dishman Art Museum, Center for Photography at Woodstock and Houston Center for Photography, among other venues. Her work is included in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as well as private collections. She is a member of HCP’s Advisory Council.
