Artist Statement
In this body of work, I look for interactions between industrial and organic waste taking place at the various stages of deterioration and decomposition caused by bacteria, fungi and exposure to the elements. In this breakdown process, natural and man-made objects are often juxtaposed, evoking stories of loss, struggle and transformation. These images are, in a way, forensic anthropology. They are evanescing clues of our ephemeral life.
Process Statement
I photograph objects and situations that best represent the interaction between organic and industrial waste. I try to intercede as little as possible on the subject I photograph. I use different equipment, from a Canon 5D Mark II, to a Nikon F3 film camera.
