Artist Statement
As a photographer, I seek to record and interpret aspects of our society that I think warrant our attention, understanding, and memory. While some projects use a documentary mode, others employ an expressive or interpretive mode of production. My artwork is often about the meanings we attribute to, or derive from, our experiences of place and/or technology, and the relationship between art and science as ways of knowing.
Process Statement
I use a wide variety of processes, including traditional and digital methods of image making. I am particularly interested in the creative potential of combining older forms of photography with digital methods or processes, and have recently been working with the photogravure process.
