Daniel Augschöll is an artist who mainly works with photography. He was born in a small town in the middle of the Alps, between Italy and Austria. After graduating in Visual Arts at the IUAV University in Venice, he moved to Berlin, where he studied photography at the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie. In his photographic projects, he has depicted the transformation of the urban, natural, and industrial landscape. He is also concerned with how human decisions impact and modify the environment, seeing a narrative potential in all the traces that human beings leave on their paths. His work has been exhibited and presented internationally, from Ravenna to Paris, from Berlin to Hong Kong. Together with Anya Jasbar, in 2008 he founded the online platform Ahorn Magazine and in 2016 he published and curated the first printed publication of his new publishing project, Ahorn Books. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
