Artist Statement
The camera has become, for me, a tool in an endless search for my identity. Having moved around so much with my Latin-Jewish-European-Israeli family, I understand diversity on a personal level. I’m constantly searching for, and visually studying, similarities and differences in people I encounter. Their body language, speech, rituals, morals, flaws...how we fit in this massive puzzle of society. Photography is also an exercise in consciousness. An abstract language that allows me to be honest about how I feel in a given situation. The images I create make my life and the lives of my subjects accessible: to me as a personal diary, and to others as a collective memory to enjoy or fear.
