Artist Statement
The photographic work of André Merian shows an interest in what builds our daily landscape. He seizes the peripheral areas, shopping centers, architectures of human organization, the living spaces, construction sites or brighter screens arranged in the public environment, his photographs are trying to fix that stands around each as the average decor, banal everyday. Past the border towns, the architecture takes on a new dimension, where the dummy, the temporary and removable take over. The result is confusing, and we wonder about these spaces become universal on the fate of the man in the aesthetics of chaos, his works question us about the limits of objectivity and subjectivity.
