The COVID-19 lockdown made me once again look closer at the city where I live. For quite a
while I have been interested in places of transition, and Montreal has many
places which are in a in-between stage. One place is the new MIL
Campus, built on the former Outremont rail yard. Some buildings are
already up, while other parts are still no man’s land. The other place is the Saint-Michel
environmental complex, a former quarry and garbage dump which will be
transformed into a park over the years. Both works can be seen at the Papier
Art Fair, which is, you guessed it, this year only a virtual fair (until June 21).
My exhibition Hors réseau at the Maison des Arts de Laval, which shortly after the opening got shut down, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is scheduled to reopen again on June 20, and the exhibtion is extended until August 23.
My video Ebb and Flow had its Canada premiere at the Rendez-vous Québec Cinema 2020, as part of a short film programme at the Cinémathèque in Montreal.
«Mit Beethoven unter einem D-A-CH», at the Künstlerforum Bonn, Germany. A group exhibtion in context of the Beethoven250 anniversary year. Was great to hang out with artist from Germany and Austria for a change!
Happy to announce that the Canton of Solothurn acquired my video Ebb and
Flow, and that it will become part of the permanent collection of the Kunstmuseum Olten.
The video is currently on display at the «Jahresausstellung der
Solothurner Künstler*innen», on view at Kunstmuseum until January 12.
