ARCHITECTURE FOR TRAVELERS

Architecture for Travelers is a record of our creative work, building projects, collaborations, and translations. Many thanks to our family and friends (especially those in West Texas and at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, where several of these projects began).

Joshua Edwards was born on Galveston Island and lives with his family in New York City and West Texas. He's the author of The Double Lamp of Solitude, Architecture for Travelers, The Exhausted Dream, Castles and IslandsImperial Nostalgias, and Campeche; and he translated María Baranda's Ficticia and co-translated Pee Poems by Yang Licai (aka Lao Yang). His photobook, Photographs Taken at One-Hour Intervals During a Walk from Galveston Island to the West Texas Town of Marfa, was published by Edition Solitude. He directs Canarium Books, and teaches at Columbia University and Pratt Institute.

Lynn Xu was born in Shanghai and lives with her family in New York City and West Texas. She’s the author of And Those Ashen Heaps That Cantilevered Vase of Moonlight (Wave Books), Debts & Lessons (Omnidawn), and two chapbooks, June (Corollary Press) and Tournesol (Compline Press); and she co-translated Pee Poems by Yang Licai (aka Lao Yang). She teaches at Columbia University and coedits Canarium Books.
